Julia Jones-Whitehead - Dancer

A native of Toronto, Julia graduated from Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet School’s Professional Division. She was the inaugural recipient of the Evelyn Hart Scholarship in 2010, and again in 2011. Following her two years as an Aspirant with the RWB, Julia joined Ballet Victoria in 2016, where she danced soloist and lead roles in Dracula, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Nutcracker, and Carmina Burana, to name a few. Julia was a guest artist with RWB in 2018, where she performed in George Balanchine’s Serenade. In 2019, she guest danced in Peter Quanz’s Lost with the Chinese folk dance company Wuxi Song and Dance Theatre, preparing the show in China before touring it across Canada and the United States. Julia next danced as a Senior Soloist with Harbin Ballet, in China, for their inaugural season, and was honoured to perform in Winter Dream, also by Peter Quanz. She is delighted to be dancing in her fifth season with Ballet Victoria. In her spare time, Julia enjoys painting, crocheting, and reading.
